What do you do with a 200 year old pine tree forest park? A skate park, of course!! The 13 ha Dzintari forest park is unique because of its central location in Jurmala, Latvia. The Architects, Substance have connected the infrastructure with wooden foot path throughout the site skate parks, pedestrian paths, cafes, WC's, playgrounds, ball grounds, sports rental facilities and various other buildings for the visitors. Due to the historical site, the Architects have chosen a module system to create the park's buildings system whereby it protects the natural ground by lifting the structure and walkways connecting the buildings. Aluminium and composite panels are used to reduce the overall bulkiness of volumes.
