What a result or a non result, you might say. The people have spoken and guess what; they can't decide who should captain through the troubled waters ahead. I'm fixed on my seat watching BBC news coverage of the election outcome. All the pre and post election reports didn't consider a minority parliament. What is normality in Germany and Ireland with their strong regional parties; it is rarely seen in the UK. Our first-pass-the-post voting system usually has one party that hold enough seats for a majority. My political history knowledge might be a bit rusty but I'm sure these situations have occurred several time and on each occasion, the Labour government is involved. All this uncertainty have made a negative impact on the markets with falls in the FTSE and bond markets. Whatever the result of this, I'm sure Labour doesn't want to repeat their Winter of Discontent in .Ps: For those of you who are into almanacs, the term 'first-pass-the-post' comes from horse racing. With just a few weeks left before Ascot, bring on the races!!
