Forrest Fulton Architecture created a mother's retreat in the woods to escape from her hectic daily routine to a secluded resting space. The Architect conceived a small, protective, introspective hull below an expansive floating space of a boat’s deck. The hull is a 7 ft wide, 8 ft long half-sunken into the ground. Three small windows frame surrounding views to promote serene enclosure. A cantilevered wooden deck hovers over the landscape. As you would expect, several restrictive construction conditions influenced the design and assembly of the retreat including no electricity, so materials had to be pre-cut before transported to site.
